Murder accused remanded for 10 days

Thoinu alias Heinu, the main accused in the murder case of vegetable vendor Momon has been remanded to police custody for 10 days.
Meanwhile, the corpse of Momon has been claimed by the family today.
Ningthoujam Thoinu alias Heinu alias Bijeshori (23) of Napet Mamang Leikai was produced before the duty Magistrate, Imphal East last night and she was remanded to police custody for 10 days.
63 year old Chandam Momon who lived in a rented room at Napet Palli was found dead on her bed on November 8 .
In connection with the murder case, Thoinu alias Heinu was pulled up by Lamlai Police yesterday morning.
It has been already reported as stated by police that Thoinu alias Heinu stabbed Momon with an intention to rob Momon off her gold ear rings.
Meanwhile, family members of Momon claimed her for the last rites from JNIMS mortuary today.
