Imphal, November 11 2013:
Maintaining that PREPAK (Pro) has nothing with the Pallel bomb blast of November 6 which claimed a civilian and injured some others, the proscribed outfit remarked that what the Thoubal commandos claimed through media about the blast was nothing but exposure of State excesses.
It was a covert operation aimed at winning Gallantry Awards as the Indian Republic Day is not far away, the outfit alleged in a press release issued by its senior publicity officer Melei.
Bombs manufactured by the outfit in military grade and embossed with the words 'Department of Defense (Red Army)' are meant to be used against Indian military, not unarmed civilians' .
Killing civilians is an act of terrorism, not acceptable to international laws and there is no reason for PREPAK(Pro) to indulge in such activities.
Lance Corporal Khunoungakpa of Langol Khunou was detailed to carry out a bomb attack against Indian military personnel about three months in connection with the outfit's rising day anniversary.
However, Khunoungakpa on reaching home changed his mind and he could not carry out any bomb attack.
All communications between the party and Khunoungakpa was snapped since the last week of September this year.
When Khunoungakpa was asked to return the two bombs he took with him, Khunoungakpa said that the two bombs had been seized by commandos in September.
The outfit went on to question how could the bombs already seized in September could used in killing civilians.
It further asked if Khunoungakpa is under police custody or whether he has surrendered to police or whether he is being kept on stand-by so that police can come up with a bold claim that one more bomb accused has been slain after some days.
