World Tourism Day celebrated
Loktak Lake to have Boat House soon, says MLA Mangibabu

As done throughout the world, World Tourism Day was also observed in the State under the joint aegis of Manipur Mountaineering and Trekking Association and Bishnupur District Canoeing and Kayaking Association at Takmu Water Sports Complex at Moirang in Bishnupur district today.
The celebration was attended by MLA of Thanga A/C T Mangibabu and SP of Bishnupur Th Radheshyam as Chief Guest and President respectively.
Dr S Shyamjai, Scientific Officer of LDA and Colonel Dhanajit Huidrom, Commanding Officer of 6 Assam Rifles, were also present on the occasion as Guests of Honour.
Speaking on the occasion, MLA T Mangibabu stated that a Boat House would be made available on Loktak Lake very soon for the tourists who come to visit to enjoy the beauty of the Lake.
The Boat House would have two rooms along with bathroom and toilet attached.
He further stated that there is the need to develop tourist industry in the State and this is the one of the best means to develop the State economically.
Those residing along the Loktak Lake should take part in developing the Lake and get along with the changing trend together.
Along with organizing a local boat race completion, various water sports activities were also organised as part of the celebration.
