Imphal, October 07 2014:
Manipur State Congress Party (MSCP) has threatened to serve legal notice against Chief Minister O Ibobi and Deputy CM Gaikhangam who is also the president of Manipur Pradesh Congress Committee (MPCC) for not inviting the party to be a part of the All Political Party Committee constituted to look into the demand for implementation of Inner Line Permit System in the State.
In a statement, the party asked the two leaders 'why MSCP was skipped in forming the All Political Party Committee on ILP despite the fact that the party is also recognized by Election Commission of India (ECI) as an active political party in the State and how series of meetings of the committee on ILP was convened without it'.
The joining of five MLAs of MSCP in Indian National Congress and subsequent announcement of merger of the party with INC was orchestrated by the two leaders to erase MSCP from the State.
With the ECI recognizing MSCP as an active political party, the fate of the five MLAs is uncertain as they may face disqualification.
Both the CM and Dy CM should be held responsible for any untoward incident arises thereof, the statement stated.
