MLA lends helping hand to pineapple farmers

MLA of Wangjing Tentha Assembly Constituency, Paonam Brojen has too come to the rescue of distressed pineapple farmers by procuring scores of pineapple today.
It may be noted that pineapple farmers across the State are among the section hit worst by the lockdown being placed on account of the COVID-19 pandemic.
To ensure efforts of these farmers and the produces are not wasted, the MLA himself has planned to procure 60,000 pineapples grown in the hill slopes of the region at his own expense, said PRO S, Jayadeva.
In a first, 5,000 pineapples grown at Saram Ching and 1,000 grown at Langathel Ching were procured today.
The pineapples acquired will be distributed freely to all the residents living in the Wangjing Tentha AC, he said.
