NDA candidate Draupadi Murmu to arrive today

NDA's candidate for the upcoming Presidential election Draupadi Murmu will arrive here on Tuesday and hold discussions about the election scheduled for July 18 with MLAs of political parties supporting the BJP government.
According to a reliable source, Draupadi will arrive at about 6pm and stay at Hotel Imphal after a reception by BJP workers.
She will then meet MLAs of the ruling and other political parties extending support to the BJP government but will not meet Congress MLAs.
It is expected that MLAs of other political parties will meet Draupadi Murmu and give their assurance of voting for her in the election.
The source further informed that MLAs of other political parties have been informed about Tuesday evening's meet with the presidential candidate at Sangai hall of Imphal Hotel and communication in this regard had already been made with all the MLAs concerned.
Draupadi Murmu Will then leave Imphal for New Delhi at 8pm, it added.
Meanwhile, chief minister N Biren chaired a meeting convened late Monday evening and discussed about Draupadi Murmu's short visit to the state with some cabinet ministers and party leaders.
The meeting was also attended by ministers Y Khemchand, Dr Sapam Ranjan, Th Basantakumar and H Dingo and BJP Manipur Pradesh general secretary K Sarat.
The present N Biren-led government comprised BJP and NPF but MLAs of other political parties like NPP, JDU, Kuki People's Alliance (KPA) and Independent are extending outside support.
Accordingly, MLAs of political parties extending support to the government are expected to give their assurance of voting for Draupadi in the Presidential election.
MPs of Lok Sabha, Rajya Sabha and MLAs of state assembly will cast votes in the Presidential election and the vote value of one MLA is 18 and around 700 for one MP.
Accordingly, total vote value of 60 MLAs of the state will be 1080 .
Voting will be held at Manipur Legislative Assembly on July 18 followed by counting on July 21.It may be mentioned that Congress party and its allies are fielding Yaswant Sinha for the Presidential election.
