Landslide victims condoled; aid extended

Imphal, July 04 2022:
Manipur Cultural Integration Conference (MCIC) condoled the people who lost their lives in the massive landslide that occurred near Tupul in Noney district and prayed for speedy recovery of those who sustained injuries in the tragedy.
In a release, MCIC secretary L Ruhinikumar informed that a condolence meeting was held at its Palace Compound Thangapat Mapal office here on Sunday.
Delivering presidential address during the condolence meeting, MCIC president A Brajakumar Sharma spoke about occurrence of natural disasters due ecological imbalance and further stressed the need to make the people aware about environmental degradation.
Meanwhile, Manipur People's Party also mourned the loss of lives in landslide tragedy by observing a two-minute silence.
A statement issued by the party informed that a team of MPP led by its president Chingakham Shamjai and vice president K Krishnachandra inspected the disaster site at Makhuam village.
The statement also drew the attention of the government for continuing to help the needy.
On the other hand, Adventure Academy of Manipur extended relief items to Noney district administration through DRDA executive engineer relief i/c for those affected by the landslide and rescue workers.
