DESAM to start inspection drives at educational institutes

The Democratic Students' Alliance of Manipur (DESAM) has said that they will be conducting inspection drives at the educational institutes of the State during October-November "to check the conditions of the educational institutes, the way of teaching, the way of conducting examinations, NAAC assessment condition of colleges and infrastructures".
To check whether the present condition of the colleges is suiting the new normal (living with COVID-19), DESAM will be conducting inspection drives and the report of the drive will be made available to the public, DESAM said in press release.
DESAM said the drive is part of its "Mass Reformation Campaign" to help improve the State Department of Higher & Technical Education and collegiate education in the State.
DESAM has also been continuously monitoring the teachers education in the State, the release said.
DESAM will extend every possible help to the Government in the implementation of a 4 years Integrated Teachers Education Program (ITEP) to make a Model Multidisciplinary College (MMC) to produce well trained teachers, it said.
DESAM also appealed to the Education Minister to setup good colleges and universities with the implementation of National Education Policy 2020 .
