Imphal, November 28 2013:
State BJP secretary O Indira said she has been lobbying hard for the party's ticket for the upcoming Lok Sabha polls showing confidence that she would be in the fray without doubt.
"Getting BJP ticket does not matter to me, I'll be in the fray for sure for the Inner Manipur Parliamentary seat," Indira told a press conference at the Press Club here on Thursday.
Indira, who is also the chairman of the party's newly floated Women's Policy Foundation, had fought the last state assembly polls from Thoubal constituency whose seat was won by her rival candidate Chief Minister of Manipur O Ibobi Singh.
The BJP leader said she intends to fight the next Lok Sabha polls because she wants to take up various development policies, particularly for women and children of the state.
Indira further accused the Ibobi led Congress Government of turning the state budget into a police budget and described the state police as an immoral force.
She said a large number of police personnel are continuously recruiting to maintain law and order at the helm of the Government however the women are still in the front protecting the state.
Indira also informed that the state BJP has recently set up a Women's Policy Foundation and it would start functioning in two-three days.
