Youth Festival begins

Imphal, November 28 2013:
Around 500 youths are taking part in the 18th State Level Youth Festival 2013 which was kicked off on Thursday here at the Khuman Lampak Sports Complex.
The opening ceremony of the three-day gala hosted by the state Youth Affairs and Sports (YAS) was attended by Imphal East district adhakshya, K Tombi, YAS Joint Director, Kh Pramodini Devi, Jilla Parishad member and chairman of Standing Committee, Agriculture and Industries, P Sundar Singh, Jilla Parishad member Md Badur Rahman and Commanding Officer, 2nd IRB, L Ibotombi Singh at the dais.
Around 500 youths from the nine districts of the state, including Sadar Hills sub-division are participating in the event.
The festival is an excellent platform for the state's youngsters to showcase their latent talents through various enthralling cultural and traditional programmes.
Adhakshya Tombi in his speech urged the youths to do their best while performing during the festival in order that that can get on the international stage and bring laurels to the state and the country as well.
