LS polls: Neiphiu Rio to campaign in State on Mar 25

Nagaland chief minister Neiphiu Rio and hordes of Nagaland ministers, MLAs and leaders of NPF will be coming to Manipur on March 25 to participate in the kick-off ceremony of Soso Lorho, the Naga People's Front (NPF) candidate for the Outer Manipur Parliamentary constituency.
Disclosing this information today, NPF leaders from Nagaland and Manipur said the campaign kick-off of the party will begin from 11 am at Senapati district headquarters where Neiphiu Rio, senior Nagaland minister TR Zeliang who is incharge of the Manipur affairs of the party and Central NPF president Dr Shorhozelie will attend the March 25 event.
Confirming the information, NPF, Manipur State general secretary Athuan Abonmai said large number of people from Nagaland are also coming on the day.
He said hectic preparations are underway for the said programme.
Meanwhile, a one-day consultative meeting of 'all political parties of Nungba assembly constituency of Tamenglong district was held at Langol Tarung community hall, Imphal West on Thursday, claimed Leo Lunsingam Rongmei, the programme secretary.
According to Leo Lungsimgam Rongmei, the consultative meeting attended by more than 400 people was chaired by Pougailung Gangmei, a senior citizen cum social worker.
Leo said many social workers, public leaders, political parties representatives attended the said consultative meeting.
"After views and opinions were discussed and threadbare discussions, the house unanimously decided to support the NPF candidate Soso Lorho in the Outer Manipur Parliamentary constituency in the larger interests of the people in the Outer Manipur," Leo Lungsingam added.
The meeting further constituted the election steering committee in respect of Nungba assembly constituency for its smooth electioneering purpose with Pouthaogai Gangmei and Leo Lungsingam Rongmei as the chairman and secretary respectively, the social worker said.
