Rahul to canvass in State on Mar 19

Vice president of AICC Rahul Gandhi will be arriving in Manipur on March 19 for the election canvassing.
This information was disclosed today by Congress leaders during the State Level Political Awareness Campaign of the Congress Seva Dal at Congress Bhavan, Imphal.
Rahul Gandhi will address the public at Kodompokpi Ground at Wangjing in Thoubal district which is the border area of Outer and Inner Parliamentary constituencies of Manipur.
Meanwhile, both the Congress candidates of Manipur dismissed the various allegations hurled against the party in today event.
Manipur Outer seat candidate and sitting Congress MP Thangso Baite said it is a fore-gone conclusion that the UPA will come back at the Centre.
Inner Lok Sabha seat Congress candidate and sitting MP Thokchom Meinya said so many bills have been passed during the UPA Government.
Meinya stated that the much discussed bill of 33% reservation of women will also be passed in the next term of the UPA.
Also speaking on the occasion, Manipur Pradesh Congress Committee (MPCC) president Gaikhangam who is also the deputy chief minister of Manipur said the allegations of the opposition parties accusing the Congress party of indulging in corrupt practice are nothing but a 'laughable item'.
He questioned whether no corruption cases were reported before the Congress government.
He said anti-corruption bill like the Lokpal Bill and the RTI were pushed during the UPA government to have transparency.
