Statistical Report of the Manipur Legislative Assembly Election 2012 was released today by the Chief Election Officer PC Lawmkunga.
Details of the last Assembly election are recorded in the report.
Names of candidates, electors, political parties as well as constituency-wise analysis are placed prominently in the report.
The 171-paged report has 22 indices.
The 22 indices include State map, GPS map of polling stations, key officials responsible for conduct of the election, women candidates, re-poll, bar chart, voter turnout, A/C summary and photographs.
The report's introduction claimed that postal ballots were made available to cadres of parties under SoO pact.
Apart from abstaining from publication of paid news, media extended full cooperation to the election department in disseminating information to create public awareness about dos and don'ts during elections.
With the model code of conduct enforced stringently, there was no ostensible display of money and muscle power.
Income Tax teams, flying squads and surveillance teams did their jobs admirably and Rs 1,08,00000 was reported seized, it said.
The report also mentioned about the election malpractices detected at several polling stations as well as the subsequent re-poll.
