Melody Khoirom, Rajkumar honoured with awards

Kakching, September 27 2015:
High School Leaving Certificate Examination 2015 first position holder Melody Khoirom and Mayanglambam Rajkumar who cleared UPSC examination 2014 for IAS were among many other prominent personalities who were conferred with annual prestigious awards instituted by the Library and Information Centre (L&IC), Kakching on Sunday.
The awards distribution ceremony was held at Library and Information Centre, Kakching and was attended by Manipur University Vice Chancellor Professor H Nandakumar as the Chief Guest.
L&IC President P Samphal and retired teacher Naorem Gandhar were the President and Guest of Honour respectively.
Melody Khoirom, who bagged first position in the High School Leaving Certificate Examination 2015 under Board of Secondary Education Manipur (BOSEM) was honoured with the Governor's Award.

Phanjoubam Gourahari Award was conferred on the 8th position holder Naorem Kabita and 19th position holder Naorem Bronson while Kshetrimayum Sanajaoba and Amureima Award and Kshetrimayum Ibohal Award were given to IAS Mayanglambam Rajkumar, who bagged 500th position in the Civil Services Exam 2014 of UPSC and IRS Rajivkumar Yengkhom, who bagged 923rd position in the same examination respectively.
Kshetrimayum Somendro and Nongmaithem Devsini, who bagged 1st and 15th position in the Assistant Agriculture Officer (Written) Examination, were also honoured with the Kshetrimayum Kullachandra and Shija Award while Moirangthem Toyaima Ningsing Mana was given to Naorem Vandana, who was the highest scorer in the MBBS, Third Provisional Part II (Final) Obstetrics and Gynecology.
Naorem Ganga Singh Award was conferred to Naorem Kabita, who bagged 8th position in the HSLC Exam 2015 and Dr Kshetrimayum Ratan Ningsing Sports Award was given to football player Pukhrambam Ocean Chanu.
Naorem Niranjoy Ningsing Meritorious Award, Yengkhom Nimai Ningsing Award and Oja Achouba Merit Award, given to three topper students under Kakching Centre of Kakching Sub-Division, were conferred to 8th position holder Naorem Kabita, 19th position holder Naorem Bronson and Naorem Nandeshwori.
Naorem Amuba Teacher Award was given to retired teacher Kshetrimayum Abadeitya.
Yengkhom Yaima Medical Scholarships, given to medical students, were conferred to four students while Yengkhom Yaima Medical Award was given to seven students who have been selected to study medical.
Many more appreciation awards were also given to prominent persons and students.
The awards carry cash prize and certificates.
One 17th Volume Souvenir which was produced in connection with the awards distribution ceremony was also published by the chief guest.
