JAC formed in connection with the case of missing of Thokchom Kiran of Koirou Mamang Leikai, Thongju Part 2 has alleged that police have failed to provide any clue or information on the whereabouts of Thokchom Kiran even after they have arrested two of the kidnappers.
Addressing a press meet at the Manipur Press Club, Convener of the JAC, NK Chalamba said that the alleged kidnappers identified as Md Salim and Md Sabir hired the Tata Iris bearing registration number MN01-X8459 along with one Kiran on March 14 from Singjamei Naorem Leikai at around 6.30 pm on the pretext of delivering a patient to JNIMS hospital.
Md Salim is a rifleman of 7 MR while MD Sabir was a VDF personnel before he took the job of driving passenger vehicles.
Kiran and Sabir came to know each other since they share the common profession of driving passenger vehicles.
As family members were busy searching for Kiran since he did not return home, Salim and Sabi informed them (family members) that they could find Kiran but his vehicle was found parked at Kyamgei Bridge.
When family members enquired the whereabouts of Kiran, the two alleged kindppapers could not give any proper answer, this only raise suspicion.
Taking serious note over their conduct, family members filed a complaint with Singjamei Police.
Accordingly, with the help of Myang Imphal Police, Singjamei Police arrested the two suspects and interrogated them.
But police claimed that they could not make the two arrested suspects to divulge any useful information that could lead to the whereabouts of Kiran, the JAC convenor said.
Meanwhile, the JAC has announced its decision of launching various intense agitations if the whereabouts of Kiran is not known by March 21 .
