Abducted driver released safely

The abducted inter-state passenger bus driver, Thoudam Rame was released by his abductors early Monday morning and reached home safely by dusk.
Rame, a driver of Royal Rajdhani bus disappeared without a trace after he was reportedly kidnapped by the Nagaland based insurgent group Naga National Council (NNC) on his way to Imphal at Viswema village of Nagaland on November 27 .
Shortly after he reached his house at Luwangshangbam Matai Leikai in Imphal East district this evening, a media team rushed there and met him.
He revealed details of his ordeal.
The driver said he was kept by his abductors in a house nearby a church for 4 days, but he was not subjected to any harassment and tortures during the captivity.
He was released by the captors around 7:30 am today after telling him that negotiation had been done.
He left the house around 7:30 am along with 10 armed cadres of NNC passing through at least three hillocks, a journey he had to walk about 20 km to get a place near Tadubi village in Senapati district.
From there, he boarded a Tata Sumo and then reached Senapati where he got in touch with his relatives.
From there again he boarded a bus and reached home around 6 pm.
It had been reported in Imphal local dailies that the kidnapping of the driver was related with monetary demand of Rs 20 lakh by NNC to tourist bus owners of Manipur.
