TKS imposes restrictions on students

In an effort to create a better and healthy academic atmosphere, the Tangkhul Katamnao Saklong (TKS), an apex students' body of the Tangkhul community, has resolved to impose certain strictures on the students and various educational institutions in Ukhrul district.
Ngaherngam Ahum, Education Secretary,TKS in a press statement said that TKS has decided to ban use of mobile phones by students inside the school and college campus.
It also directed the students not to loiter in uniform during the school hours.
Taking serious view of the rising drug abuse in Ukhrul town, the TKS has also warned students against using drugs or any other intoxicants in any form.
The TKS will conduct surprise inspection of schools and college w.e.f.1August, 2011 .
It will impose stern action against any students and concerned authorities found not complying with the directives, the press release further stated.
The TKS also appeals to all the parents, students and concerned authorities to extend their kind support and cooperation in order to create a better and healthy academic atmosphere in the Ukhrul district.
