Policy to regulate private schools

Education Minister Th Radheshyam has said that an educational policy to check proper regulation of private schools is underway and appreciated the contributions of the private schools in imparting education in the State.
He made the statement at the KM Blooming Higher Secondary School annual toppers felicitation function of High School Leaving Certificate Examination and Higher Secondary Examination 2017,
Khangabok held at the school premise today.
Radheshyam said that certain norms have been laid down by the Board of Secondary Education Manipur under the Recognition Rules - Condition for Recognition of High School and running a school in a very limited space, packing all the students in one small courtyard or in a very congested room is unacceptable.
"Thus, an educational policy is being drafted to curb such ugly feature that sometimes threaten the real essence of education and its institution", he added.
He also assured that the policy will be friendly to the private schools and will help them in grooming students.
Congratulating the position holders of the' school, Radheshyam said that no matter where the students are, they should always respect and regard their teachers because without teachers their achievements would not have been possible.
"All successful candidates of today", he said, "should imbibe a sense of responsibility, to serve and sacrifice for the welfare of humanity because education without these qualities become meaningless.
"The real fruit of education can only be achieved when students start contributing towards the society after they achieve their goals and aims", he added.
Khangabok AC MLA Okram Surajkumar, Adhyaksah Thoubal Zila Parishad Kh Sumalata Devi, Deputy Commissioner IAS L Nabakishwar Singh, Secretary Council Dr M Bidyasagar, Secretary BOSEM Dr Ch Sarat Singh, Audio Visual Officer SCERT Birendra Salam, Chairman of the school, teachers, faculties and students of the school were also present at the event.
