FSSAI, tobacco items disposed

Bishnupur, June 14 2017:
In a three day drive against selling, importing and consuming contraband items like tobacco, eatables and drugs by a team of Manipur police, Food Safety Department and Narcotics Cell, many items/products were disposed by the team today.
Contraband worth about Rs 2,35000 were seized from different areas of Bishnupur district.
Items which are not certified by FSSAI and were imported from Myanmar including Miko, tin-fish, sunflower seed, along with tobacco items like Zarda, Khaim, betel etc were disposed in the presence of SDPO, Bishnupur police Binoy Chongtham, OC, Bishnupur Md Raju Khan and Designated officer of BPR, Food Safety Department Y Surendro, Food Safety officer Nelson Thounaojam and A Premkumar.
Speaking to media persons, Y Surendro stated that the drive will continue in the remaining parts of the district and warned to take the drive seriously as any person found misbehaving will be arrested along with hefty fine.
