Covid Warrior Nursing Officers Association appeals

The Covid Warrior Nursing Officers Association has submitted a memorandum to the Chief Minister demanding for extension of service and regularisation of nursing officers in view of the services rendered by them during the difficult COVID-19 pandemic.
In the memorandum, the association stated that the nursing officers were appointed on contract basis adhering to existing recruitment rules and by following the proper procedures and are being utilised to combat the COVID-19 pandemic in their respective posting at Covid Care Centres and have completed more than 100 days of service.
The memorandum also mentioned about the Central Government's recommendation to the State/UT Governments to give preference to those health professionals who have completed 100 days of Covid related duties in regular Government appointments of health professionals through the respective Public Service Commission/other recruitment bodies.
In view of the above circumstances, the association requested the Chief Minister that the service of members of Covid Warrior Nursing Officers Association be extended/be regularised/appointment be made to a regular post under the Directorate of Health & Family Welfare, Government of Manipur.
