Sit in demands release of accused

Kangpokpi, November 23 2021:
After the protest at Motbung model village demanding the unconditional release of the trio arrested in connection with B Gamnom firing incident, women of Kangpokpi town held a sit-in protest at Nute Kailhang today.
The protest jointly organised by Kangpokpi Women Welfare Organization and Thadou Students' Association Sadar Hills also demand the unconditional release of the trio namely Hentinseh Singsit, Henminlun Misao, and Seigoulun Singsit who were arrested on October 25 .
The women protestors shouted slogans such as "We want justice", "Release the innocent trio unconditionally", etc.
while holding placards which read, "We protest against the arrest of innocent citizens", "Innocent lives matter, don't tarnish their careers", "Release them immediately", "We want justice".
Kimboi Lhouvum, vice president KWWO claimed that the innocence of Hentinseh Singsit, Henminlun Misao, and Seigoulun Singsit has been proven many times.
However, the State Government and authorities concerned are uwilling to accept the facts, she added.
She also said that they all belong to very poor families.
She then appealed to the State Government and the authorities concerned to release the three persons by considering the grievances and hardships being faced by their families and the evidence which proved their alleged innocence.
It may be mentioned that the civil society organizations of Kangpokpi district had served an ultimatum to resort to an extreme form of agitation from November 11 if the trio are not released within November 10 but suspended it after talks with the Government representatives.
The civil society organizations of Kangpokpi had also cautioned that its agitation can be revoked anytime if the trio is not released at the earliest.
