COVID-19: State adds 50 new cases, 1 fatality

Imphal, November 23 2021:
The State reported 50 new COVID-19 cases and 1 fatality in the last 24 hours.
The single fatality is from Imphal East and was also not vaccinated.
This took the death toll in the State to 1963 .
The 46 new cases from the general population (20 male and 26 female) and 4 CAPF personnel were confirmed at JNIMS (6) and other testing centres (44) .
As the new cases were detected out of 2146 samples, the test positivity rate stands at 2.3 percent.
The cumulative positive cases of the State is now 1,25,007 .
The positive cases were reported from Imphal East (15), Imphal West (18), Bishnupur (3), Kakching (1), Kangpokpi (2), Senapati (1), Tengnoupal (1) and Ukhrul (1) .
All districts except Kangpokpi and Tengnoupal reported TPR below 5 percent.
Kangpokpi with 9.5 percent (2 cases out of 21 samples) and Tengnoupal with 7.7 percent (1 case out of 13 samples) reported the highest positivity rates amongst the districts.
With 40 individuals discharged today from home isolation (5), RIMS (1), JNIMS (7) and CCCs (27), the State has 687 active cases (619 general population and 68 CAPF personnels) .
The recovery rate is now 97.88 percent.
At least 6401 doses of COVID-19 vaccines were administered on November 22 .
As of yesterday, the State has administered 21,12,237 doses of COVID-19 vaccine (12,71884 1st doses and 8,40,353 2nd doses) .
Jiribam with 53.94 percent of eligible population receiving second dose has the highest vaccination rate in the State followed by Imphal West with 51.29 percent and Imphal East with 45.82 percent while Kangpokpi with 10.63 percent, Ukhrul with 15.72 percent and Kamjong with 19.33 percent were the districts with the lowest vaccination rates.
