CM vows to punish perpetrators behind Koirengei blast

Imphal, November 05 2014:
After paying homage to Lance Naik Jagga Singh of 165th Territorial Army posted at Koirengei Old Airfield who was killed in a bomb attack triggered by unidentified persons on November 3 around 8.30 pm, dead body of the deceased has been sent back to his native land in Punjab from Imphal Tulihal Airport today.
The ceremony was attended by Chief Minister O Ibobi; Deputy CM Gaikhangam; DGP Sahid Ahmed and high ranking army officers.
Speaking to newspersons, Ibobi said that subversive activities being carried out by some groups to demoralize the State would never succeed as people are against it and pledged that State forces along with army would nab the culprit (s) involved in the attack and award stringent action.
The CM alleged that the act was deliberately committed to create havoc in minds of people who want peace and development in the State while terming the bomb attack as 'coward' and 'inhumane' .
Saying that the organization involved in the attack would be known in due course, Ibobi asserted that such act would only destabilize peace and hinder development process.
Such anti-social act would only bring harm to the society.
The organization behind the deadly attack would never succeed, he added.
Appealing to all concerned organizations not to repeat such anti-social act in future, the CM stated that the government is considering possible helps which could be extended to the deceased jawan's family.
During the ceremony, the CM led in offering floral tributes to the mortal remains of the deceased as a mark of respect to the departed soul.
A two-minute silence was also observed as a mark of condolence.
From the side of army, a gun salute was paid as an honor to the martyr soldier.
