Union MoS Vijay Goel inspected site acquired for establishment of NSU at 44-Yaithibi Loukol

Union Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Youth Affairs and Sports, Vijoy Goel today inspected the site acquired by the state government for establishment of Sports university at Yaithibi Loukol in Thoubal District.
The Union Minister of State was accompanied by Chief Minister Okram ibobi Singh, MLA P Brojen , Chief Secretary O Nabakishore and other state government functionaries.
Soon after reaching the site , Vijay Goel took a ride to the periphery of the proposed site along the Chief Minister and was heard commenting the site as a bit stumpy for constructing the National Sports University (NSU) .

Chief Minister Okram Ibobi, clarifying the notch said that it was assumptive and the portion of selected land is much higher than the site where the National Institute of Technology (NIT) is constructed at Lamphel area in Imphal West district.
The Union Minister of State was given a warm welcome by people of Wangjing Tentha and Khangabok Assembly Constituency.
A committee formed to demand Sports University at the proposed site also arranged a warm reception for the Union Minister of State at Khongjom Keithel.
Large number of people stands in line to welcome the visiting Minister.
A memorandum demanding speedy establishment of the National Sports University was also submitted to the Union Minister of State through MLA P.Brojen .
The memorandum stated that the state government has selected the right place for construction of the National Sports University at 44-Yaithibi Loukol in Thoubal district that lies just in the eastern site of National Highway 2.Required land for establishment of the national Sports University has already been acquired after settling the dispute and the objection from some quarters are unreasonable, the memorandum stated.
It further urged the Union Government for speedy establishment of the University by not making any decision to shift the location.
