Ibocha, a resident of Thoubal, who came to Khwairamband Bazar told Hueiyen Lanpao that the cleaning of blocked drains by PWD is quite appreciable but it has caused serious inconvenience to the general public.
The PWD should have taken up the cleaning activity either during night time or early morning to avoid any traffic snarl in Bazar area during the rush hour, he suggested.
With regard to the traffic problem, a shopkeeper said that the ban on entry of vehicles in Bazar area due to such cleaning activity has seriously hampered his daily sales even though it is high time for fabulous sales ahead of the five-day Yaoshang festival.
Another shopkeeper, who is also a resident of Thangal Bazar, opined that the cleaning activity should continue during the five-day Yaoshang holiday to avoid causing incontinence to the public during other normal working days.
