NEP 2020 implementation underway: MoS Dr Subhas

Union minister of state for education Dr Subhas Sarkar, who arrived here on Saturday, on a four-day visit to review progress and implementation of various projects and schemes, said that implementation of National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, which was framed after taking suggestions from around 1 lakh people, has begun.
Addressing the media at Thambal Shanglen, here, the minister said that the government does not want to give extra burden to the students.
Led by this idea along with the requirement of the modern society, the government is preparing a national curriculum framework.
Once completed, the framework will be shared with the state governments for inclusion of state specific chapters in different areas.
The NEP also has room for vocational education, he said, while highlighting beneficial points of the NEP 2020.He also shared the grief and pain of the bereaved families, who lost their loved ones in the Tupul landslide and hailed chief minister N Biren for his undivided attention to the rescue operation being carried out at the site without even attending the NEC meeting being held in Hyderabad.
The union MoS also spoke about different welfare schemes and developmental projects being taken up by the government such as PMJAY, CMHT, NSAP, Churachandpur Medical College, School Fagathansi Mission, Lairik Tamlasi, Start Up, Stand Up, PMEGP, Barak Bridge, Makru Bridge, Railway project, Trans Asian Highway and War on Drugs campaign among others.
He said that the state is moving forward under the rule of BJP.
