Korungthang exhorts Maring youths

Encouraging all the Maring youths to be well-educated, MLA of Tengnoupal Assembly Constituency D Korungthang has observed that late schooling among the Maring people has resulted in drought of top level government officials from the community.
Speaking as Chief Guest of the valedictory function of the two-day long 28th Literary cum cultural meet 2012 at Sandang Senba Village today, MLA Korungthang pointed out that the number of higher-level government officers from Maring community is comparatively lesser in comparison to other communities in the state Manipur and it's because of the late schooling.
Congratulating all those who passed the MPSC and UPSC exams from the community, Korungthang said that all the Maring people should encourage the youth to become well-educated and foster them to become civil service officers in future.
Highlighting various development activities to be taken up in Sandang Shenba village, MLA of Keirao A/C K Thamarjeit Singh, who presided over the function, said that for the betterment of the younger generation he would establish a library where one can have access to all the important books necessary for competitive examinations like MPSC and UPSC.
Stating that he feels proud of being a MLA of the constituency where Maring, Kabui, Muslim and Meetei communities settle together, Thamarjeit also assured to provide rice rations to all the beneficiaries in the constituency regularly on monthly basis.
