Freshers' Meet of NSUD held

With much flair and colour, the Naga Students' Union, Delhi celebrated its 49th NSUD Nite cum Freshers' Meet at Mavalankar Auditorium, New Delhi in the presence of permanent member of Congress Working Committee (CWC) Luizinho Faleiro as chief guest and South Asian University President and Former Vice-Chancellor, JNU Prof GK Chadaha.
The curtain for the auspicious occasion was raised by Chakshang Siro and friends who ambience into the crowd for the night followed by the Naga Christian Fellowship Choir exemplifying the essence of welcoming through an enthralling performance, said a press release.
Lhusisato Iralu, President Naga Student Union Delhi (NSUD), offered a warm and cheerful welcome the gathering.
The spiritual essence of the event was maintained by the Church leaders who brought forth the almighty blessings and especially to freshers' on their special day.
The event witnessed the coming together of both the cultural and secular aspects, combining folk songs and dances as well as western tunes reminded about how well tradition and modernity can walk hand in hand.
Among the many items presented the traditional couple's parade choreographed by Lhusino Sale displaying the richness of Naga traditional attire was an eye catcher making the audience asking for more.
Both the chief guest and guest of honour, who are well versed shared a long history of companionship with the Nagas embraced the connection with the Nagas and encouraged the youths to move out from comfort zones and enriched themselves in different avenues as well as to keep the fire of the rich culture and tradition burning.
The social and cultural secretary NSUD, SH Lawrence acknowledged the guest present and who toiled for the event's success to end the first session on a beautiful night.
The second session that followed brought about the modern essence of the event through musical performance, fashion parade and crowning of fresher king and queen.
