Jiribam, October 13 2015:
Jiribam District Demand Committee (JDDC) has set October 31 as the fresh deadline for the State Government to translate into action all points in the MoU signed between the two sides and threatened to launch sustained agitation if the demands are not fulfilled within the set timeframe.
JDDC is upset over the Manipur Government's failure to fulfill the points in the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) which was signed on November 9, 2011 in Imphal, Jiri News Network reported on Tuesday.

The committee has been demanding a full-fledged Jiribam District which is a subdivision of Imphal East.
Over the demand, the committee had launched an agitation a few years back.
Disclosing this decision during a press meet at the office of All Jiribam United Clubs' Organisation (AJUCA), JDDC convenor W Dinesh also said a public meeting will be held at Jiribam public ground on October 30 to decide the next course of action.
All Jiribam Tribal Union (AJTU) President Paosing Kameih and representatives of different civil society organizations were also present at the press meet during which W Dinesh was elected as the new convenor of JDDC and Y Ibomcha as the co-convenor.
Some members were also inducted into the committee.
