Dengue cases climb to 31 in Manipur

Imphal, October 13 2015:
With seven more persons tested positive for dengue on Tuesday, the number of confirmed cases of disease in Manipur has climbed to 31 .
Official sources in the Health Department informed that the figure was only 24 till Monday last.
Blood samples of more patients were tested positive for dengue fever at Regional Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS) on Tuesday, they said.
Seven of them were found tested for dengue positive - three from Chandel District, two from Thoubal district and one from Churachandpur district.
The Health Department is taking up various precautionary measures to tackle the dengue outbreak in the State and that regular reports are also collecting from all CMOs of the nine districts.
Samples are being sent to RIMS and as of yesterday a total of 42 blood samples from different districts had been tested at the hospital and five of them were confirmed dengue.
Altogether 30 samples were collected from Bishnupur district alone.
Among the five cases, two were from Churachandpur, one from Imphal East and two from Imphal West.
Now Imphal East has two dengue cases.
Condition of some of the patients suffering from the disease have improved and discharged from hospital.
Three of the seven new cases are from Chandel's Moreh.
