The 12-hour general strike called by Kuki Students'organisation (KSO) against the killing of five KLA cadres in an alleged encounter by troops of 12 MLI in Ukhrul district on Monday ended at 6pm today without any report of violent incident.

Normal life come to a grinding halt in Churachandpur due to the 12-hour bandh called by the Kuki Students'Organisation (KSO) against the killing of KLA cadres in an alleged fake encounter on Monday in Ukhrul district, our correspondent reports.
Passenger vehicles stayed off the road and business establishments downed their shutters.
Educational institutions and most of the government offices in Churachandpur remained close for the day.
The streets wore a deserted look.
The bandh ended peacefully without any report of bandh related violence.
Transportations in the Imphal-Moreh stretch of the NH-39 were reported to be affected today due to the indefinite bandh called by various organisations to register protest over the killing of KLA cadres at Mongkot-Chepu in Ukhrul district by troops of 12MLI.Meanwhile, all the dead bodies of the KLA cadres are said to be entombed in a common grave at the KNO headquarters in Churachandpur.
Sources also said that a joint emergency meeting of the KNO and UPF is being convened on the matter.
The matter is also said to be tabled in the Ground Monitoring Group meeting.
