State Governor, Gurbachan Jagat, camping in the national capital New Delhi, today meet with National Security Advisor, MK Narayanan, a day after he briefed on the law and order situation of the state to the Prime Minister's Office (PMO).
Meanwhile, BJP team from the state who had called on with the Union home minister, P Chidam-baram on September 7 last will be backed Imphal without meeting with the Prime Minister, Dr Manmohon Singh as BJP could at the Centre could not get appointment with Prime Minister, reports from New Delhi.
The Governor is camping in New Delhi since September 7 and likely to stay their for some more days there.
He had briefed on the law and order and internal security of Manipur to the PM Office during his stay in the national capital yesterday and he held another round of meeting with the internal security advisor, MK Narayanan today.
Governor Gurbachan Jagat briefed Prime Minister Manmohan Singh on the state & aposs law and order situation following the agitation by the people there over the killing of a youth in an alleged fake encounter.
He was earlier scheduled to call on with the Home Minister P Chidambaram.
But he had left for US, the Governor called on with the internal security advisor.
The Manipur government has been under intense pressure both from its people and the Centre over alleged stage-managed gun battles in which several persons were killed.
Meanwhile, state BJP team comprising its president H Borbabu, former chief minister, W Nipamacha, former MLA, M Bhorot and H Bhubon who joined with the party Central leaders in meeting with the Union Home Minister, P Chidambaram will back Imphal without meeting with the Prime Minister who they planned to have audience with.
They are to back Imphal as they could not get a fix appointment from the PM office with regard to meeting with the PM and there is less possibility of getting appointment in the next around five days.
Talking to Hueiyen Lanpao at New Delhi, the team member however informed that during their meeting with the Home Minister, they insisted him processing for imposition of President Rule in the state as SPF government could not maintained the law and order situation in the state in the wake of people agitation after the July 23 alleged fake encounter.
The Home Minister heard patiently to the briefing of the BJP team with regard to the present situation of the state.
Chidam-baram also informed them that Centre is closely accessing the development situation of the state.
