State Cabinet meeting held at the Cabinet room of the chief minister's secretariat has approved to the fresh recruitment of a total of 3453 teachers for the schools run by hill district councils, agreed to the creation of 1007 post of different categories for setting up Women (Mahila) IRB battalion.
Sources said that the state Cabinet meeting held under the chair of the Chief Minister, O Ibobi this evening has also approved to the sectoral plan allocation for the current year 2009-10.The meeting agreed to allocate Rs 618.48 crores of the total outlay of the state for completion of ongoing projects and allocation of another Rs 256.28 crore for taking up new projects.
While the remaining amounts of the total annual plan outlay for the year 2009-10 which was finlaised at Rs 2000 crore including Rs 550 crore SPA will be allocated to the different sectors of the state government handle by the departments.
The Cabinet also approved to the creation of 1728 new posts for the schools under Hill District Autonomous Councils to mend shortage teachers in the schools in hill areas beside 1724 posts created earlier and conduct recruitment for a total of 3453 teachers together at a time at the earliest.
The Cabinet also after thorough discussion agreed to the hand over the election of the district councils to the Hill Area Committee while handing over the holding over of the elections by the State Election Commission.
Finance department to ask estimate the require expenditure.
No EVM will be used in the election.
Creation of a total of 1007 in the state police department including 637 female constables, 160 head constable, 38 drivers and 69 followers for setting up Woman IRB battalion has also been approved by the cabinet.
Merger of Manipur Tribal Development Council (MTDC) District Council, upgrade of Imphal east district at ITI and recruitment of its shortage staff, handing over of Ukhrul to Ngairi Rvier via Toloi to BRO and appointment of wife of driver A Rajen and younger brother of Mandol Token who were killed by NSCN(IM) with SDO, Dr Kishan also approved by the cabinet among others.
Wife of driver Rajen, Aheibam Ningol Ranibala will be appointed as peon and younger brother of Token Y Kennedy to the same post, his brother served in the state revenue department as approved by the cabinet.
