Two arrested, four stolen cars recovered

Imphal, April 26 2022: Consequent to the arrest of one vehicle lifter along with stolen vehicle on April 22, a team of Porompat police station in follow up action made arrest of two accomplishes and recovered four stolen cars from a house at Lilong Ushoipokpi Tharaorok under Lilong police station on Tuesday.

The raid at the house was carried out with support from Lilong PS following disclosure by the accused arrested earlier this month.

The raided house belongs to one Md Wahid (25) son of Md Jabar, who, according to the arrested person, is the kingpin of the gang.

Police source said that on reaching the house, three people fled from the spot.

The police team made a hot pursuit of the suspects, who fled towards Tharaorok hill range.

The team was able to arrest two of them namely Syed Ajad (20) son of Syed Hashamudin of Lilong Awang Leikai and Yumkhaibam Hellal (24) son of Y Abdul Satar of Lilong Turel Ahanbi Ubakthong while the third managed to escape.

After the arrest of the two, four vehicles - one silver colour Maruti Suzuki Alto Car without registration number, one silver colour Alto car (AS14B-0502), one white colour Chevrolet Beat (WB06G-4426) and one Maruti 800 (MN03P � 0581) were recovered from the house of Md Wahid on production by the arrested people.

Police also recovered five master keys, which the accused vehicle lifters used in stealing the vehicles.

Further it was learnt that the person, who managed to escape from the spot is Md Wahid (28), the main accused and kingpin of the case.

Hectic efforts are on to make arrest of the main accused Md Wahid, the source added.
