Mass awareness on Covid-19 organised

Committee on COVID-19, Manipur; a conglomerate of CADA, UPF, NIPCO, AMSU, UPACO, MAPI Council organised mass awareness programmes on Covid-19 in different parts of Churachandpur and Bishnupur districts on Sunday, under the theme of "Do vaccination, stay safe from COVID-19; Vaccination is the only way to fight COVID-19; Maintain SOP, Stay safe & healthy; Lets fight COVID-19 together" .
According to a release by Committee media coordinator Geetchandra Mangang, the programme in Churachandpur district was held at Churachandpur town, Tuibong, Rengkai, Lamka New Bazar, Khumujamba and College Line area; while in Bishnupur district the campaign covered Kumbi Bazar, Chandapur, Keibul Lamjao, Thanga, Nachou Maning Leikai, Moirang, Kwakta, Waiton, Tronglaobi, Kangvai, Torbung, Phubala, Ningthoukhong, Thinungei, Kwasiphai, Toubul, Khoijuman, Naranseina, Nachoupokpi, Nachou, Bishnupur, Oinam, Keinou, Kha Jiri, Nambol and Utlou.
During the programmes, the public were informed about the pandemic and urged to get tested immediately on developing symptoms instead of hiding the same.
Timely treatment will help save precious lives.
Furthermore, all beneficiaries above 18 years of ages should get vaccinated, while strictly adhering to the guidelines and SOPs issued by WHO, Health Department and Home Department.
The masses were also made aware of the contributions and sacrifices made by frontline warriors like doctor, nurses, health care workers, police personnel, etc., in the fight against the pandemic, through audio recordings.
During the campaign, RIMS Asst Medical Superintendent Dr Y Arunkumar informed the masses of the difficulties face by doctors during Covid management and urged all to follow the guidelines including wearing of face masks, proper hand hygiene, use of sanitisers and maintenance of physical distance of 6 feet.
He further urged all to get vaccinated, adding that everyone has a huge role to play in curbing the spread of the pandemic.
