Meeting on PMAY held

Chief Secretary O Nabakishore has said that people who are residing at urban areas may avail home loan up to Rs 6 lakh under Prime Minister Awaj Yojana.
The Chief Secretary said that meeting of the State level committee of the scheme was held with himself in the chair yesterday.
The scheme which would be taken up under the theme, 'housing for all' would be implemented at urban areas, he said and added that it is being considered to extend the scheme to rural areas as well.
Officials from Forest Department, MAHUD, Revenue, Town Planning, and banks attended today's meeting.
He said that Panthoibi Housing Finance Company Ltd has also been included among the banks which would provide these loans.
He said that the Centre would offer a subsidy of 6.5 per cent to the loanees.
Anybody who wish to take loan for extension of houses may also get loans up to Rs 1.5 lakh.
Stating that the scheme would be launched in the State soon, the Chief Secretary said that details about the scheme may be had from Municipal Councils and Nagar Panchayats.
