Imphal, August 14 2011:
The Kasom Khullen High School in Ukhrul district is still facing lots of problems in the smooth running of the school due to the government's neglect of the needs of the school.
The high school has 354 students in all but the school has only nine government teachers including the Head Master.
The school is being run with the help of the Baptist Church of Kasom Khullen since the church has appointed 10 private teachers on a contract basis to run the school for the sake of the students.
The 10 private teachers who are teaching in the school are being paid by funds of the church.
But the government is still indifferent to this fact and does not even have a plan to appoint the required teachers in the near future.
To run such a high school at least 22 teachers are required, three Maths teachers, six Arts teachers, three Science teachers, two Hindi teachers and eight undergraduate teachers.
However the school has at present three Science teachers, four undergraduate teachers and two Arts teachers, Tuisemlou Shinglai, Head Mistress of the school told Hueiyen Lanpao.
She said that the construction work of the classrooms, boys hostel, Head Mistress's quarters have not completed till now.
Moreover construction work of a toilet has never been taken up.
She appealed to the concerned department to look into the natter seriously and to provide at the earliest, the requirements of the school in order to ensure a successful functioning of the school.
