AMGSU felicitates meritorious Gorkha students

The All Manipur Gorkha Students' Union, Leimakhong Unit felicitated many meritorious students from Gorkha community who have excelled in the HSLCE, HSE 2018 conducted by the BOSEM, COHSEM CBSE during a one day career guidance programme cum felicitation program yesterday.
General secretary of Leimakhong Bazar Authority, Lalboi Kipgen, who is also the Education secretary of Leimakhong Area Youth Organization, joint secretary of Leimakhong Bazar Authority Shyam Dahal, president of AMGSU Leimakhong Unit Yadav Kharel and president AMGSU LB Adhikari, attended the event as presidium members while Dinesh Acharya, Project Associate of Sikkim attended as resource person.
Lalboi Kipgen while addressing the student community as chief guest of the function said that students organization must organise career guidance and awareness programmes more often and continuously considering the importance of the programmes.
Education is a continuous learning process with no end point, he said.
Student community should not involve in any anti-social activities or protests rather they should focus on education, he said and apprised that their (students') success depend on their labour and determination.
Acknowledging the achievement of Pratik Dahal in the recently concluded All India Karate Championships, 2018 at Delhi, Lalboi Kipgen appreciated Pratik Dahal for bringing laurels to Manipur.
He is pride of Leimakhong area, he said.
Pratik won a silver medal in Karate and bronze medal in Kata in 20 Kg category in the All India Karate Championship 2018 held at New Delhi from June 22-24 .
Dinesh Acharya, Project Associate of Sikkim said that students need to be developed and nurtured physically, mentally and spiritually.
Students should stay fit, healthy, and happy.
During the programme, meritorious students were feted with mementos, certificates and gifts.
Kata and Karate medalist Pratik Dahal of Leimakhong was feted with trophy, memento and cash award.
Meanwhile, All Manipur Gorkha Students Union has extended its gratitude to Prof Dr Gopal Kumar Niroula Chhetri on his promotion to Vice-Chancellor of Sikkim University recently.
"Your achievement makes Manipur Gorkha community proud," said LB Adhikari, president AMGSU wishing the VC best and good health in his future endeavours.
