Doctors' Day observed

A blood donation camp for doctors and staff of Advanced Hospital was held, to mark the celebration of the hospital's 5th foundation day, at Palace Compound today.
Speaking to media person on the sideline of the blood camp, Senior consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon, Dr Ibomcha Thokchom said that the day is also observed across the nation as Doctors' Day to recall the contributions of the physician Dr BC Roy in the filed of medical.
OPD treatment is conducted for free today apart from the blood donation camp, he said.
Meanwhile, as part of the observance of Doctors' Day, IMA Manipur State Branch organized an interaction session between senior and junior doctors at IMA-MSB House, Lamphelpat today, conveyed a press release issued by State Secretary, IMA-MSB, Imphal.
IMA, Manipur State Branch remembered the noble, kind and selfless services of the senior doctors.
Dr N Sukumar, a nonagenarian shared his life as a doctor and advised the younger doctors to be kind and dutiful.
Doctors took pledge to the service of humanity, led by Brogen Singh Akoijam, president of IMA-MSB.
He appealed to the doctors to be more compassionate and humane while dealing with patients.
He also appealed to public not to resort to violence or destroy properties of the health institutions and harm the doctors.
This will bring only hardship to poorer section of the society.
