Imphal, February 28 2012:
In a major blunder by authority concerned, the question papers of MIL meant for Class XII students appearing in the ongoing Higher Secondary Examination, 2012 were distributed among the students of Class XI today.
Announcing this to media persons, Dipanjit Ningthoujam, Secretary General, AMSU, said that the Class XII question papers were distributed among the students of Class XI at Waikhom Mani Girls' College, Thoubal yesterday.
The question papers were meant for the MIL examination scheduled on March 19 next.
The ongoing Higher Secondary Examination, 2012 is being conducted by Council of Higher Secondary Education, Manipur.
Dipanjit informed that the said question papers have been fetched by the Principal of Waikhom Mani Girls' College, which is a Private centre (B), from Thoubal Police Station.
The question papers of Class XI and XII examinations for Thoubal District Private Centres are kept at Thoubal Police station.
He further informed that the two sets of question papers are kept separately wrapped in two parcels.
The parcel of Class XII question papers of Class XII is marked in black ink while that of the Class XI in red ink.
So, it is a big blunder on the part of the Police personnel of Thoubal Police Station in giving away the question papers of Class XII instead of Class XI.
The matter was brought to the notice of AMSU headquarters by some volunteers of AMSU who are also appearing in the class XI examination that day.
After the mistake was detected, the question papers were taken from the students by the OC of the Examination centre after about half an hour.
This incident should not be taken lightly and the state government should take up necessary action in this regard, Dipanjit said.
The student body has demanded that the leaked question papers should be declared null and void and a new set of question papers should be prepared by the concerned authority in time for the examination as scheduled.
