UNLF condoles

Imphal, May 27 2019:
United National Liberation Front (UNLF) and Manipur People's Army (MPA) have condoled the untimely demise of Sgt Lamkheiba alias Khumukcham Shyam s/o Kh Biren of Kakching Khunou Awang Heitup Makhong, who passed away following an illness yesterday.
A press release issued by the Director of Department of Publicity of the outfit stated that Lamkheiba joined MPA in 2003 and received basic military training and after that he stayed in MTF till 2006 .
It continued that Lamkheiba was once arrested and jailed by Imphal East commando on March 17 .
2007 and after his release, he assumed his duties at UNLFCHQ on January 3, 2008 .
On August 5, 2012, Lamkheiba returned to MPA GHQ and joined the 241 Bn of the outfit.
It informed that Lamkheiba was a commander of one of the three teams which carried out an attack on 44 AR at Khunjip Kamchung at Kangpat Khullen, Kamjong district on October 20, 2013 and added that the next day, while retreating after a successful assault, he was injured while trying to defuse abomb trap which was planted earlier.
Informing that his vision was affected by the injuries, the outfit continued that he was tasked with working for Department of Organisation of UNLF on January 8, 2017 .
On September 13 last year, he retired from MPA and UNLF, it added.
Conveying that late Lamkheiba was a loyal and brave member of the outfit, it continued that UNLF and MPA are deeply saddened by his untimely demise.
Praying for the departed soul to rest in peace, it also extended sympathies to the bereaved families.
