Dr Ranjan pledges to develop NSU

Newly elected BJP MP Dr RK Ranjan has pledged that he would make his best efforts to develop National Sports University (NSU), Imphal to the level of an international sports university within two years.
Speaking to The Sangai Express over telephone, Dr Ranjan who is currently at Delhi said that maximum efforts would be invested to develop NSU's infrastructure, faculties and complex fully within the next two years.
In line with the State's fame, of being a sports powerhouse in the country, a sports city would be developed in the State so as to boost sports tourism, Dr Ranjan said.
He said that he would work to construct a football stadium with collapsible roof so that football matches can be played without interruption even when there is rain.
"My wish to do something for the State has been granted by the people", said the newly elected MP adding that he would work to further develop Imphal International Airport and increase the number of flights to and from it.
Saying that roads would be constructed on either bank of Imphal River from Lamlong to Lilong for movement of light vehicles, Dr Ranjan expressed keen desire to develop a waterway in Imphal River by blocking the river current to a certain level at Lilong.
He also pledged to develop a healthy eco-system on the banks of Imphal River in the line of Yamuna Biodiversity Park by planting fruits and flowers suitable to the soil of the land.
He further expressed keen desire to construct a Manipur Levy Tower with all the names of Manipuri soldiers who fought against Burmese invaders to end the dark period of Seven Years Devastation engraved on it.
A floating market would be constructed on Loktak Lake apart from developing a wetland park so as to attract more tourists, said the BJP MLA.
He added that his desire to bring the Institute of Bioresources and Sustainable Development, Imphal under a more dynamic leadership so that it can engage in more intensive research works.
