Left parties meeting

The Left Parties Coordinating Committee,
Manipur today organised its 7th campaign meeting at Uripok
Achom Leikai.
The key issues focused in today's meeting were anti-cor-
ruption and anti-communalism, proper drinking water supply
and the need to ensure food security for all and electoral
reform, said a statement.
Speaking at the occasion, State secretary of CPI, Dr M
Nara said that it would be impossible to do away with cor-
ruption unless elections are conducted in a free and fair
manner.
As such, people should stand against the practice of
bribery during election times.
State secretariat member of CPI (M), Ksh Shanta said the
first step towards the right step for the people of the State
would be defeating corrupted Congress party and communal
BJP party.
State CPI leader Laishram Sotinkumar said that the
Left parties will form a local/village level committee to face
corruption and communalism.
Khomdram Gyaneshor, State secretary of Forward Bloc
said that many children from poor economic background are
not in a position to continue their education.
In order to save
these children, the State Govt should improve Govt school and
regulate private schools.
CPI (M) State secretary Sarat Salam, RSP secretariat
member Kangjam Manoranjan, chairman of Forward Bloc
Khwairakpam Apanthoi Mangang also spoke on the occasion.
