Speaking to media persons at Manipur Press Club today, one Yaikhom Bedamni said that the Utlou Awang Leikai, ward no 1 member has allegedly took the AAY card from one Thounaojam Tampha (70) to renew her card in the past few months.
Bedamni further maintained that Tampha used to collect her rightful subsidised foods using the photocopy of her AAY card, however, it was until recently that she was denied of the subsidised items without the original ration card.
Bedamni narrated that when the matter was brought to the ward member, Th Tampa was told that her AAY card is still at the DC office.
When she enquired about her card at the DSO, her card had been changed/registered to the name of one Irom Tampha, w/o Irom Thoiba.
Tampha submitted an application to the DSO, Bishnupur as directed on February 6, Bedamni added.
Th Tampha has no other family member and is living on her own, Bedamni said adding that she survives from the PDS items like rice, Kerosene etc rendered by the Government.
Seeking immediate attention of the State Government, Bedamni urged the authorities concerned to look into the matter and relieve the grievances of the elder beneficiary.
