Imphal, February 14 2019:
Renowned transgender model Huirem Bishesh has claimed that a non local IAS officer along with some other individuals have conspired together to make it difficult to get her Visa which is important for her to represent India in the Miss Mardi Gras International Queen 2019 which will be organised by Filipino Lesbians And Gay Community (FLAGCO) at Sydney, Australia.
Speaking to media persons at Manipur Press Club today, Bishesh, who is also a Shumang Leela artist, claimed that Miss Mardi Gras International Queen 2019 will be held on February 24 as a part of the Mardi Gras Mand Long Festival.
She then explained that the organisers of the beauty pageant have fixed February 22 for all contestants to reach the venue but as her Visa is not yet processed, she might not be able to make it in time.
Claiming that she has already complained about the matter to some high level politicians in the past, Bishesh said that her complaint has not been entertained owing to the law and order condition in the State currently.
Informing that the said event is organised every year for raising charity for the homeless and starving children of the world, Bishesh said that only she was chosen to represent India in the contest.
During the event, there will also be various meetings with foreign bodies which can provide funding to the country, she said.
