Imphal, May 13 2015 :
United Committee Manipur (UCM) and All Manipur United Clubs' Organisation (AMUCO) have demanded on Wednesday that the State Government come out with a white paper on the investigation report of the killing of two labourers and the brutal assault on a 12-year-old boy by the Kuki Revolutionary Front (KRF) at Thingsat village under Saikul Police Station of Senapati district on May 12 .
Meanwhile, the All Manipur Students' Union (AMSU) has also demanded drastic punishment to the KRF cadres responsible for the killing of Moirangthem Dayananda (18) and Maibam Premananda (18) from Patsoi Part-3 in Imphal West and the assault on Bishal from Haobam Mark Lourembam Leikai in Imphal West.
"We condemn the incident in the strongest terms," UCM president Elangbam Johnson told a press meet at the committee office here.
He demanded that the State Government come out with a white paper on the investigation report of the incident.
Johnson said the police report on arresting of eight KRF members in connection with the killing needs authentication.
"We just cannot accept such reports straight," he said.
The UCM leader declared that the Manipur Government should not take it for granted that the matter will be settled by arresting eight KRF cadres for the killing of the two labourers.
He said it is high time that the State Government abstained from its habit of paying compensation to the next of kin every time a person is killed.
"If appropriate steps are not taken up by the Government on right time, Manipur could face a very dangerous situation soon.
Manipur could be in flame," Johnson cautioned.
He noted there have been several incidents in different parts of the State in the recent times that could flare up communal violence and mentioned the incidents of Gwaltabi, Aimol and Moidangpokpi where unwanted incidents had occurred.
Johnson alleged that there are certain groups who are trying to incite communal tension in the State.
AMUCO vice president, who was also present during the press meet suspected certain policies of the Government of India that might be the main cause for the current incident.
"We suspect if the Government is using underground groups which are under suspension of operation arrangement to flare up communal violence," he said.
He demanded the Government to book the commander of the KRF designated camp and all involved in the heinous crime and punish them as per the law.
Meanwhile, a team of AMSU visited RIMS where Konthoujam Bishal has been undergoing treatment after he was brutally assaulted by the KRF.
Union secretary general Sarangthem Manjit demanded the State Government to book all the KRF members involved in the killing of Moirangthem Dayananda (18) and Maibam Premananda (18) and the assault on Bishal.
"If strict punishment is not given to the KRF cadres, we will launch intense agitation," he warned.
DESAM : Democratic Students' Alliance of Manipur (DESAM) in a press release condemn the inhuman act of KRF a militant group under Suspension of Operation with the Government for killing two innocent labourers and brutally assaulting a class six student.
The student organisation also alleged that the government is keeping militant groups under SOO for extortion, killing of innocent people and to create fear psychosis to the common people.
It is the constant violation of ground rules of SOO which lead to such inhuman activities.
Search operation should be conducted to book the culprit as soon as possible.
Moreover the chief minister and the deputy chief minister should also visit the family of the deceased and the injured family and the address the issue.
If the matter is not solved or justice is not meted stringent action will be taken up against the government with the help of the people expressed the press release.
KSA: Kangleipak Students' Association has condemned the abduction and killing of Moirangthem Dayananda and Maibam Premananda by Kuki Revolutionary Front which is a signatory to the suspension of operation.
The student organisation also condemned the physical assault by the KRF on one Konthoujam Vishal of Nidi Home Academy where he is studying in Class Six.
According to a press release KSA alleged that the government is protecting such militant organisations and is caught unawares of the atrocious activities carried out by the militant groups.
Demanding that the culprits must be booked and punished, KSA also claimed that various political parties in the State are working on their own interest of promoting their parties and playing the blame game while inhuman killings continue in the State.
