Crucial meeting with Delhi tomorrow : NSCN-IM

Dimapur, January 19 2016: NSCN-IM leaders and Government of India representatives will hold a "very serious meeting" on January 20 in New Delhi.

According to the NSCN-IM, the political dialogue with India has become a serious business as it has entered a crucial stage.

The NSCN-IM sources added that the January 20 talk will be one of the "most crucial talks" of the 17 year long peace talk.

The sources said that both the parties have discussed all the "nitty-gritty" of the Framework Agreement (August 3, 2015) and now they are ready to "fine-tune" it.

The NSCN-IM sources said "drafting" in this regard will begin in the next few days.

Meanwhile, the NSCN-IM's Council of Nagalim Churches (CNC) has informed all the "National workers", that January 20, 2016 has been declared as "National Fasting and Prayer Day." The CNC said all the "National workers," wherever they are, are requested to fast and pray from morning till 3.30 pm for the on-going peace talk.

Those who live in and around Dimapur district are requested to come to Hebron for the said program.

"All the citizens who love and long for an honorable solution are also requested to willingly engage themselves in fasting and prayer on this day.

God's intervention is what India and Naga need most now," the CNC said.

"We hope that all the National workers will obediently and respectfully suspend their personal and official businesses on this day (very important, however, it may be) and join in the fasting program.

By doing so, God will be gracious to us (to you and me particularly)," it added.

TSA condemns : The Thadou Students' Association, Churachandpur Branch (TSA-CCP) has condemned the alleged brutal assault of Thangcha Misao (35) s/o (L) Kamsei Misao of Matijang village, Torbung on January 18 by supporters of the bandh imposed by various organisations of Moirang area against the naming of Thangjing as Thangting.

In a statement, TSA-CCP said that Thangcha Misao was brutally assaulted by the bandh supporters.

It added that the mountain range, historically, belonged to the chief of S Nabil village and was named as Thangting by the Thadou community.

Thangting was referred to as Thangjing as the valley dwellers started climbing the hill range as an annual pilgrimage.
