Covid positive cases rise by 26

Imphal, August 17 2022:
As many as 26 people were found positive for COVID-19 put of 684 samples tested at various testing centres across the State during the last 24 hours.
Although the number of positive cases show a slight increase, the daily positivity rate on the other hand recorded a slight decrease to 3.8 per cent against yesterday's 4 per cent.
The 26 positive cases were reported from Imphal East (8), Imphal West (5), Thoubal (1), Bishnupur (4), Kakching (2), Senapati (2), Kangpokpi (1), Ukhrul (1), Chandel (1) and Churachandpur (1) .
With the addition of these 26 cases, the cumulative number of positive cases in the State has reached 1,39,563 .
19 individuals were also discharged today from home isolation (13), RIMS (1), JNIMS (1), SHRI (3) and CAPF (1) leaving 156 active cases at present.
The recovery rate showed a slight fall to 98.35 percent against 98.36 percent the previous day.
2496 doses of COVID-19 vaccines were also administered on August 16.With these the State has administered a total of 31,47,813 doses of covid vaccines including 16,23,532 first doses, 12,95,207 second doses and 2,29,074 precautionary doses.
The State has, till yesterday, vaccinated 62.27 percent of eligible population with the first dose while 54.23 percent have received their second dose.
