Ibobi's statement on assault on NE people Manipulated, truncated, claims CM's Secretary

A recent interview given to ANI was manipulated and a truncated segment was uploaded in the social media with an ulterior motive to malign Chief Minister O Ibobi, said a press release issued by Secretary to Chief Minister N Ashok Kumar.
The interview given by the Chief Minister clearly outlined his serious views on the recent assaults on the people from North East region.
He categorically condemned the assault in the same interview.
The truncated version of the complete interview uploaded showed the Chief Minister's view in a distorted form which has invited serious reactions.
Such a malicious act of uploading a distorted version was to mislead the people with a vested interest to create disharmony among the people, said the Secretary.
The views expressed by the Chief Minister have been misrepresented with an attempt to tarnish his image.
Many individuals and political parties have reacted without viewing and studying the full interview.
The Chief Minister even visited the victim of sexual assault at AIIMS on February 10 .
The Chief Minister terming criminal assaults as most unfortunate condemned the recent incidents in the strongest terms.
He also emphasised that such reprehensible attacks on the people of North East region should be condemned by the entire nation.
The Government is also looking for provisions to initiate officials and legal proceedings with the social media existing on digital platform.
The Chief Minister had earlier met the Union Home Minister on February 9 to register his strong protest against the recent incidents of violence, sexual assault and molestation of people from North East.
He also handed over a letter to the Union Home Minister strongly condemning the incidents and seeking stringent action against the culprits expeditiously, conveyed the Secretary.
