Zillai announces 18 hrs bandh in CCpur

CCpur, March 30 2018:
The Zillai GHQs has today announced the imposition of 18 hours total bandh in Churachandpur saying their 24 hours deadline served to the Government to secure the safe release of two kidnapped drivers has lapsed without any visible action.
Announcing the bandh, Zillai's organisational secretary Pauneilal told reporters that despite 5 days having lapsed since the abduction and their 24 hours deadline too have expiring, they no Option but to impose a total bandh beginning mid-night.
The bandh which will take effect from midnight of March 30 will wind-up at 6 pm of Saturday so as to avoid inconveniencing Church goers, he said adding, if no positive development comes even after the bandh a more intense form of agitation will ensue.
Medical services, water supply, electricity, ongoing exams, fire service and media will be exempted from the bandh purview, according to a statement issued to this effect by Khailalpiak Vaiphei, Secretary I&P Zillai GHQ.
The statement appealed to civil society organisations in the district and the public to co-operate and support their cause as the incident is not an isolated one and the menace could hit any community anytime if such actions are not nibbed in the bud on time.
Two drivers, Lalmalsawmlian, 17 and Khuplal, 20 engaged with special contractor T Lala have been abducted for ransom from their worksite at Tuili Leibul by unidentified men on March 26.Though the police have visited the worksite and mounted an investigation, there has been no breakthrough till date.
